Eligibility quiz

Find out if your record can be cleared.

Four short questions. The result is statute-cited so you (or an attorney you take it to) can verify the eligibility logic. We never log your specific answers — aggregate state and outcome counts only.

How the quiz works

The quiz has four inputs: state (because every downstream rule is state-conditional), offense category (misdemeanor, non-violent felony, violent felony, sex offense, DUI, drug offense), years since completion of all sentence requirements, and current supervision status.

The output is one of four statute-cited result kinds:

  • Likely automatic — if you live in a Clean Slate state and meet the trigger conditions, the state should seal your record without you filing.
  • Petition eligible — you appear eligible to file. The state page lists the form, fee, and venue.
  • Not yet eligible— your wait period hasn't elapsed. We compute the earliest date.
  • Likely excluded— your offense category may not qualify under your state's law. An attorney may still see options.

The eligibility logic is sourced from state statutes and reflects our research as of the “last verified” date shown on each state page. This tool is informational and is not legal advice. Confirm with a licensed attorney before relying on the result.
