Roughly 70 million Americans have a criminal record. Most have no accessible way to find out whether their record qualifies for relief — the law varies state to state, and the closest national resources are encyclopedic, not interactive. CleanSlateCheck.us exists to bridge that gap.
What we are
We're an independent information hub. We research the eligibility rules in all 50 states and DC, encode them into an interactive eligibility quiz, and publish the per-state details (statute, wait period, fee, court venue, exclusions) on a single accessible site. We do not connect visitors with lawyers.
What we are not
We are not a law firm. We do not represent you. Nothing on the site is legal advice. The eligibility quiz returns a research-grounded answer about your statutory situation; it does not analyze the facts of your case. State law changes; each state page shows the date its data was last checked, and the data is not updated in real time.
Editorial team
The eligibility data and educational content are researched and drafted by the CleanSlateCheck.us editorial team, led by:

Statute citations and procedural details are reviewed against state legislative and court sources before publication. Each state page carries a per-statute primary-source URL and a last-verified date.
Attorney review
Per-state eligibility is verified against state legislative, court-system, and AG-office primary sources. We do not have a third-party attorney reviewer attached to the editorial team — rather than fabricate one, we say so directly. Where a result depends on facts we can't analyze (specific charge, exact disposition, timing), the eligibility quiz says so and suggests talking to a licensed local expungement attorney.
How we're funded
The site is published by Desymphony EOOD, the data controller named in our privacy notice. It carries no ads, no paid placements and no referral arrangements.
Privacy posture
We treat the audience's privacy as a hard design constraint. We never store your answers. Google Analytics records that a quiz was completed and for which state, along with the standard page-view data described in our privacy notice.
