In one paragraph

The audience here is sensitive to surveillance, and we treat that as a hard design constraint. We never store your answers. Google Analytics records that a quiz was completed and for which state, along with the standard page-view data described below. The site does not collect contact details, and we never sell, share, or transfer your information for marketing.

What we collect

• Analytics (Google Analytics 4): the pages you view, with the standard page-view data Google Analytics collects, and one event when you complete the eligibility quiz: quiz_completed with the state you chose. Your answers and the quiz result are not sent.
• Your analytics choice, only if you click the button below: one value in your browser's localStorage.

What we never collect

• Your quiz answers: your offense type, conviction year, supervision status and result stay in your browser.
• Contact details: the site has no contact or intake form.
• Information from third-party data brokers or background-check services.

Analytics

Before Google Analytics loads, each page sets Google Consent Mode defaults by region. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are denied by default, so Google Analytics runs without analytics cookies and may send limited cookieless measurements. In all other regions, including the United States, analytics and advertising storage are granted by default, and Google Analytics 4 may set its cookies (_ga, _ga_*). This site shows no ads and sets no advertising or retargeting cookies.

When you click it, this site stores one value in your browser's localStorage: cleanslatecheck-us-cookie-consent = declined. Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described above, that stored choice is the only thing this site keeps in your browser, and it is stored only when you click. We do not share your data with advertisers, social media platforms, or data brokers. We do not run third-party tracking pixels.

Categories of personal information collected

• Identifiers: the Google Analytics cookie identifier (outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), and the IP address Google Analytics receives with each request
• Internet activity: page views and the quiz_completed event (state only)

We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, financial information, biometrics, precise geolocation, or data from minors under 13.

Retention

• Analytics: kept in Google Analytics under the property's data-retention setting.
• Your analytics choice: in your browser until you clear this site's data.

Your rights — CCPA, CPRA, and similar US state laws

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by CPRA, and similar laws in Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Virginia (VCDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), and others, you have the right to:

• Delete personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not have a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link because the underlying activity is not happening — but if you want a confirmation in writing, email us.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. If your browser sends a GPC header on a request, we treat it as an opt-out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (consistent with our existing posture of not selling/sharing in the first place).

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, email us and we will delete it on confirmation.
